Build a Data Access Layer with New Book on the ADO.NET Entity Framework (Press Release)

Entity Framework Tutorial is a new book from Packt that is a clear and concise guide to the ADO.NET Entity Framework and Data Services. Written by Joydip Kanjilal, this book will help users explore the Entity Client data provider and ADO.NET Data Services, and will learn how they work with the Entity Framework.

The ADO.NET Entity Framework is a framework for providing services on data models from Microsoft. It is a new way to build the data access layer of Windows or web applications. It's an Object Relational Mapping (ORM) technology that makes it easy to tie together the data in a database with the objects in an application.

This book starts with introducing the users to the ADO.NET Entity Framework and builds on their skills to speed up their application development by constructing a better data access layer. Users will also learn to write programs against the Entity Data Model to perform CRUD operations with complex data in their applications.

Through this book users will explore the features of the ADO.NET Entity Framework and understand the concepts of entities and their relationship. Users will be able to create an Entity Data Model using the ADO.NET Entity Data Model Designer as well as the EdmGen tool. Developers will learn how to create statements in Entity SQL.

Recovering from acute Chicken Pox

Hi,

I am now recovering from acute Chicken Pox. It is very painful - I was unable to do almost anything for a while. This had put a stop to virtually all my professional activities - articles, books, etc. Now, I am much better, back to work.
