WINTELLECT ANNOUNCES OPEN ENROLLMENT PUBLIC SUMMER SCHEDULE

 

(Knoxville, TN)– May 25 2006 -- Wintellect, a consulting, debugging, and training firm specializing in Microsoft .NET and Windows technologies, today announced its open-enrollment public summer schedule – offering courses in person or through a virtual format via Microsoft LiveMeeting.  The line-up includes some brand new deep-dive classes on Threading, Windows Communication Foundation and Microsoft Atlas.

June 27-28Effective Threading with Jeffrey Richter (2-day online, instructor-led class for $249).  As part of Jeffrey’s Mastering Responsive, Reliable and Scalable Applications curriculum spend two days learning the value of memory models and volatile fields, thread pools, thread synchronization primitives, asynchronous programming, thread context management, debugging and testing of multi-threaded applications, and more. By the end of the course, architects, developers, program managers, and testers should have a solid understand of how these work and how to use them effectively. All demonstrations and sample code is in C#.  

 

July 11-12WCF: BUILDING REAL-WORLD, FEATURE-RICH CONNECTED APPLICATIONS with Justin Smith (2-day online, instructor-led class for $249).  As part of Justin’s Mastering Distributed Applications curriculum, this intensive 2-day class takes you into the heart of the WCF infrastructure and shows you how this cutting-edge platform provides security, reliability, transactional processing, and interoperability, while also describing when these features should be used in your applications. Topics include: a deep dive into WCF architecture, contracts, bindings, error handling and debugging, hosting, reliability, transactions, and security.  

 

July 18-19 - .NET Debugging with John Robbins (2-day online, instructor-led class for $249).  As part of John’s Mastering .NET Debugging curriculum, you will learn an approach to debugging that has proven to help companies ship better code faster. The course gives you the leg up necessary to truly take advantage of the new debuggers and tools in Visual Studio .NET 2005 so you have a better chance of successfully deploying your first .NET applications. And, this course discusses performance tuning in the .NET environment. If an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, then a few days spent with John Robbins, one of the world's foremost experts on debugging, could be the best investment your company makes all year.

 

August 1-3ASP.NET, Atlas & You: BUILDING CUTTING-EDGE WEB APPS FOR THE MICROSOFT PLATFORM with Jeff Prosise (3-day instructor led course in Austin, TX for $750).  In this intensive 3-day class, you'll learn about all the new features of ASP.NET 2.0, from master pages and declarative data access to asynchronous pages and other advanced features that aren't covered anywhere else. You'll also take a deep dive into Atlas and learn how to build cutting-edge AJAX applications with a minimum of effort. Prerequisite: familiarity with ASP.NET 1.1 and the desire to become an ASP.NET/Atlas guru.

Enlisted in 1995. Basic at Ft Sill. AIT at Ft Jackson (75F). Served in Ohio National Guard. Went through ROTC program at Ohio State University and received 2LT commission in 1997, Engineer branch. Spent about 4 years in 16th Engineer Brigade in Ohio National Guard, then moved far from nearest unit and went into Inactive National Guard, and eventually Individual Ready Reserve. Called up from IRR in 2004 for duty in Iraq (Engineer Platoon Leader with 1st ID). Made it home in 2005. Resigned commission as a CPT in December 2005.
