TORONTO, CANADA - ComponentArt is proud to announce the immediate availability of Web.UI 2006.2 for ASP.NET AJAX Beta – the first suite of controls designed specifically for Microsoft’s forthcoming ASP.NET AJAX development framework (formerly “ATLAS”).

Web.UI for ASP.NET AJAX goes far beyond compatibility or basic interoperability with ASP.NET AJAX, but rather offers deep integration into the ASP.NET AJAX framework in several key areas: All controls inherit from the Sys.UI.Control client-side base class, implement type descriptors, and expose extensive client-side object models built specifically for the AJAX Library type system.

An industry first, ComponentArt Web.UI for ASP.NET AJAX introduces the ability to use ‘Atlas’ client-side syntax to modify or even create the entire structure of any UI control on the client – without the need to do callbacks or postbacks. All client-side changes are automatically persisted to the server-side object state on callback or postback.

“Web.UI for ASP.NET AJAX is our most important and innovative framework release to date”, says Miljan Braticevic, President of ComponentArt. “We are excited to introduce the first suite of controls that are truly built for the most comprehensive AJAX framework available today – the Microsoft ASP.NET AJAX framework”.

With the Web.UI 2006.2 release, ComponentArt offers three platform builds – Web.UI for ASP.NET 1.0, ASP.NET 2.0 and ASP.NET AJAX.

The full commercial version of Web.UI 2006.2 for ASP.NET AJAX is on track to be released at the time of the public release of “Atlas” – scheduled for December 2006.

The ComponentArt Web.UI suite is available as a Developer, Subscription or Enterprise license, starting at $799 per developer. Customers who purchase a Web.UI license will receive a single license key that can be used to unlock all Web.UI 2006.2 framework versions (ASP.NET, ASP.NET 2.0 and ASP.NET AJAX).
