Infragistics Inc. today announces the release of NetAdvantage for JSF 2006 Volume 2, providing sweeping feature additions to the grid component -- now with hierarchical data views, as well as Portlet and Facelet support throughout the toolset. NetAdvantage for JSF is a comprehensive set of AJAX-enabled JavaServer™ Faces (JSF) components for building commercial class user interfaces for J2EE applications. The toolset contains the most essential interface controls including a hierarchical grid, navigation, menu, tree, tab, explorer bar and editors. All components are AJAX-enabled with a fully customizable look and feel, providing the ability for teams to build high performing and scalable J2EE web applications.

New Features of This Release
The AJAX-enabled grid represents a vast improvement to end-users of Java applications in terms of presenting deep, complex data in a highly familiar and readable UI. The grid can display hierarchical data, allowing nested grids to be attached to a collapsible/expandable column. Using familiar metaphors for expandable columns, application end-users will be able to expand the grid to reveal data with unlimited depth, as well as paging and sorting through those levels independently within the data. Additionally, data columns may often exceed the width of a viewer’s screen presenting difficulties in reading and scrolling left-to-right. To solve this problem, the grid can now lock columns (and headers too, similar to Microsoft Excel), allowing the grid data to be ‘split’ into sections, and still providing scrolling capabilities on the right side of the grid.
To satisfy corporate application developer needs, NetAdvantage for JSF now supports Facelets and Portlets fully throughout the toolset, further expanding the platforms available to our developer community in the Enterprise.
