Learn to develop web applications with new book on the Yahoo User Interface JavaScript library

Learning the Yahoo! User Interface Library is a new book from Packt that teaches users to develop next generation web applications with the YUI JavaScript development library. Written by Dan Wellman, this book introduces the popular open-source YUI JavaScript library and takes users through each of the fully released components in detail looking at the classes that make up each component and the properties and methods that can be used.

The Yahoo! User Interface (YUI) Library is a set of utilities and controls, written in JavaScript, for building richly interactive web applications using techniques such as DOM scripting, DHTML, and AJAX. It also includes several core CSS resources.

This book covers all released components whether utility, control, core file, or CSS tool.  Methods of the YAHOO Global Object are used and discussed throughout the book. The basics of each control is presented, along with a detailed example showing its use to create complex, fully featured, cross-browser, Web 2.0 user interfaces.

Besides acquiring a deep understanding of the YUI library, users can also broaden their knowledge of object-oriented JavaScript programming, as well as their understanding of the DOM and CSS.

Web developers comfortable with JavaScript and CSS will find this book useful. For more information about the book, please visit: http://www.packtpub.com/yahoo!-user-interface-library-yui/book
