My Move
Currently I am working for CP Ships, but we have been taken over by Hapag-Lloyd. In the take over they have decided to split their business up into regions. These regions will then manage business for their region and report back to HQ in Hamburg, Germany. Our Tampa, FL office is going from about 900+ employees down to about 150 employees. Guess who will not be one of those 150 employees left in Tampa? You got it, ME. However, Hapag-Lloyd has offered us chance to obtain positions in other parts of the new company. My new position, one I did not even apply for, will be in Piscataway, NJ. Have you seen the cost of a two bedroom apartment?!?! Try starting around $1400.00USD a month. Now I am sure some of you may pay that with no issue, but here in Tampa, FL I can get a two bedroom apartment for about $600.00USD a month. Big difference!
There there is the taxes. Thank fully New Jersey allows for people to live in different states and not pay the NJ taxes in your paycheck. So around the first weekend in May I will be venturing up to NJ and Easton, PA area to look for a place to live. So if anyone knows of some good groups around Piscataway, NJ or Easton, PA that are into the DotNet technologies, drop me a line.
While I am there I will be taking pictures with my new digital camera (gotta love new gadgets) and putting them online when I get back.
