Writing critical code.
Several years ago, I read this article about the engineers who write and test the systems that run the space shuttle.
For some reason, I was thinking about it this morning, and I decided to dig up the link and post it. It's a facinating contrast to the world of commercial application development where all-night coding sessions are fueled by Red Bull and last minute feature additions are often the norm. I love getting to see different perspectives, and this article was a really cool chance to look at how some of the most stable (and expensive) code in the world is written.
