As relief facilities are overwhelmed by the volume of evacuees, a lack of data management slows progress. Carbon paper forms are used to process guests at the Astrodome in Houston. Families are separated and new help in finding each other. Distributed databases, RFID tags, and wireless handheld devices could be used to register people and perform searches to match family members. In this session, we will explore how agile development could be use to create a system to help mitigate some of the problems faced by the guests and staff at refugee centers.
