Large data management project in ASP.NET

Hello! I am working on a big scale project (C#, ASP.NET, SQL Server) that requires a lot of data filtering, searching and sorting from one of our top clients. I am having difficulty writing the stored procedures and the code as the database schema is frequently changing. I would have loved to use a C# code generator but most of them do not meet our needs. Does someone know a good code generator that can produce the stored procedures, the data access layer and a high-level business layer? Also, it would be ideal generate an out of the box ASP.NET application so we can to demo the functionality of the future product to our client. Thanks!

Hi,

I am having a problem that I have been trying to solve for the last 2 weeks. This might be seen in many travel sites like lastminute.com. The situation is simple. I need an indeterminate progress bar. I enter the search criteria/parameters (From/To Date & Destination) in page ‘A’. I click the search button now. I need to be transferred to Page ‘B’, which is empty but consists of a progress bar like image displaying any message and then I need to be transferred to page ‘C’ where the results will be displayed. I use the term “Indeterminate”, coz the progress bar is displayed based on the time taken (which can vary) to display the results and it not a fixed time interval(Usually with thread. sleep type) like u see in many sites. I am using VS 2005 + MS SQL 2005 + ASP.NET 2.0 + AJAX 1.0. Please help me out. Thanks in advance

I really need some help. I've spent the past two hours trying to figure this out... and I can't. I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

Running that, I get the error CS1026: ) expected in regards to the OnSelectedIndexChanged="updateKey(this.value);"

I've also tried removing that from the DropDownList and changing the DynamicPopulateExtender to:

This doesn't give a .NET error, but when you select something it returns "Web Service call failed: 500."

In my opinion, that is a horrible error for me... as I have no idea WHY it failed.

Hey,

I have a problem with treeview asp.net 2.0 and ajax control toolkit. This is quite a strange problem that I think there is something wrong with Ajax:

I have a treeview TreeviewDepartment and a textbox TextboxEmployee. Both are put on a UpdatePanel of Ajax

1. I loaded 3000 employee records into TreeviewDepartment.

2. I assgined a TreeView_SelectedNodeChanged for the TreeviewDepartment

But everytime I clicked on a node: Employee (is a child node of DepartmentNode) ==> then the textbox will get value of the employee node:

TextboxEmployee.Text = TreeviewDepartment.SelectedValue;

Just like that but the page will be delayed for about 20 seconds to display the value on textboxEmployee.

I dont know what is wrong or bug with Ajax?

If anybody has ideas to solve this problem, could you please post it here?? and surely, your ideas will be appreciated

i have one folder in my domain server, in that folder there are five folders in them there are thousands of files in each of them. With these, I want to create one file server. The five folders had individual users. And also I want to create user interface which will appear in client systems in a web browser. In the very first page the five folders will appear, but the particular user only can open that folder and he can download the files in that folder and also he can upload files to that folder. one user can open only his folder he cant open other folders. this user authentication will be helded on file server which is in my domain server. How can I do this? Please give me any idea to do this!thanks in advance!

i use form fields validation thru java script for ASP.NET prog.. if client validation fails i need to display error message in designated error label control.this same error label also used in server side validation also. this is mandatory.bcause i should use only one error label. what is problem in this validation is when try to display error message in label control ,execution automatically come to server side. further statements in javascript function doesnt execute. if i use two different labels means it works fine if i use one label for both validation it doesnt work ,but this shoud be madatory.

I am trying to use the javascript's FileSysyemObject as ,,

I wanted to use AJAX in my existing website. I refered the Ajax dll and then in my aspx page, i wrote the code as:
