  • DevConnections Spring Slides and Demos

Last week I gave three presentations at the DevConnections spring show in Orlando.  I received a lot of great feedback from attendees which I definitely appreciate, especially since I was feeling a little bit bad about having run out of time in my first two talks (and overcompensating a bit on my last one, which ended a few minutes ...

  • Call for Abstracts for the Fall 2008 Microsoft ASP.NET Connections

Dear Fellow Speaker, With the Microsoft ASP.NET Connections conference in Orlando just around the corner, we would like to start planning the Fall 2008 show, and have it finalized by sometime in April. Thus, I am extending you an invitation to submit abstracts for the Fall 2008 Microsoft ASP.NET Connections conference, to be held in Las Vegas, ...

  • Spring ASP.NET Connections Sessions

I'll be speaking again at the spring ASP.NET Connections show, in Orlando, Florida.  We're driving down from Ohio with the family again, something we haven't done since four years ago, when we returned to find out I was being called up to go to Iraq.  I'm completely out of the Army now (resigned commission - honorable discharge - as of ...

  • Fall DevConnections Session Comments

I've been speaking at the DevConnections conferences since Fall of 2001 and have really enjoyed the experience.  The speakers are a great group of people to hang out with, Shirley and Erik and Paul and the rest of the team put together a very well-organized event, and this last show was very impressive in terms of its attendance and breadth ...

  • Posted Updated Samples from My Microsoft ASP.NET Connections Las Vegas Sessions

I have posted the updated samples from my three sessions at last week's extremely successful Microsoft ASP.NET Connections show in Las Vegas (part of DevConnections which had more than 5100 attendees!) The sessions:Pre-conference workshop (co-presented with Stephen Walther) on ASP.NET AJAX.Data Controls Tips and TricksProgramming SQL Server ...

  • Choosing Sessions Sucks

I just had to do it again: choose 27 sessions (plus a few workshops) from 188 submitted abstracts. Had to go from 38 speakers to 13. I don't think I can emphasize enough how difficult it is to make the cut. No matter what I do, I end up disappointing a lot of people (25 to be exact). Of course, it's nice to have the conference's ...

  • DevConnections Afterthoughts and Presentations

I got back from DevConnections yesterday at 7am (took the redeye flight), after being gone since Saturday.  I'm glad to be home, and I know it will be a few days before I'm even close to caught up on everything that fell behind while I was in Vegas.  The show was great, though, and this is sort of my summary of the last week. I flew in ...

  • ASP.NET Membership Manager

In my session this week on Membership and Personalization in ASP.NET, I mentioned a commercial control for this but couldn't recall the name or URL.  Well, here it is, the ASP.NET Membership Management control from Quality Data.  I have not personally used the control, but it looks like it has all the features one would need.  It's ...

  • One Week to DevConnections

The Fall 2007 DevConnections conference is next week in Las Vegas.  This is definitely going to be the biggest conference in the United States for developers for the second half of 2007 (TechEd being the only larger one this year, I think), and I'm sure the show will be bolstered significantly due to a lack of a PDC event this year.  ...

  • DevConnections Las Vegas Almost Sold Out!!

Shirley Brothers (DevConnections Goddess) just emailed me to tell me we are 78 people short of 5,000 attendees for the upcoming DevConnections conferences in Las Vegas. Once again, this will be a dynamite show in Sin City. If you haven't heard, there will be nine shows co-hosted at the same conference center. Register for one and attend all ...
