  • Blog post on Project 2007 Reporting Extensions

Check out this interesting post over at Project Programmibility called Reporting Database Extensions: Local Custom Fields Custom Code.  This shows how to create a server side event in Project Server 2007 that caches custom fields for your reporting.  It shows how to cache Task Text fields, and their lookup values, but it also gives ...

  • Scrum templates for Project Server 2003

OK, this is probably old news for a lot of you, but I found these templates for Scrum to use with Project server 2003, and thought I'd share.  I hadn't seen this from other sources so check out this link if you haven't tried it either.  I wonder if this will work with 2007?

  • Quick Upgrade to the Beta 2 Technical Refresh for Project Server 2007

I haven't seen this covered anywhere else, at least in quickstart form, although there are a lot of detailed walkthroughs, including this one at technet.  So I thought I'd pass this on for anyone else looking for a quick start to installing the TR.  BTW, this is for an existing Beta2 install with minimal data (in other ...

  • Project Technet Site is Live (Including Upgrade instructions)

The Project Technet site for Project 2007 is now available.  I looked at the upgrade documentation, and am a little concerned about our upgrade.  We have highly customized the sharepoint side of things, so I am assuming we will have to do some tricks in this part of the upgrade.  We have seperated Sharepoint from 2003 Project ...

  • A couple of new articles

Just a bit of self promotion here, and I'm looking for some feedback.  I've recently published 2 articles on Crystal Alliance, and was hoping for some feedback on these.  One is called ''Creating a Task Summary Crystal Report from Project Server'' and the other is called ''Creating a Project Velocity Crystal Report using Microsoft ...

  • Project Server 2007 SDK (Beta) is now available

For anyone playing with the new Project Server 2007 Beta 2, there is also an SDK with samples, how-tos etc. here.  While I haven't checked it out yet, I'm really interested in the PSI reference and utilizing the Project Server events that are available to developers.  Since this is beta, I'm sure the folks in the Project team would love ...

  • Another reason to upgrade Project Server 2003 to sp2

In doing some routine maintanence for an instance of Project Server, I discovered a reason to upgrade our version of Project Server from sp1 to sp2.  Now why weren't already there is a different discussion.  But what I learned is that there is a numeric limit when adding Values to a custom field in  your Enterprise ...

  • MSF Agile Project Template

It's been a while since I posted, and my last post was about the lack of an MSF Agile Project Template in the list of Templates available in Project 12.  I'm also a little miffed that the Microsoft folks who put together the MSF Agile download didn't include a little more in their project templates that come with that download.  As far ...

  • Project 12 Templates

From the Microsoft Office Project 2007 blog, we have a listing of the templates that will be available in the new version of Project.  For me, I'm wondering where the MSF Agile Templates are?  Unfortunately when I download the templates from the MSF Agile website, the Project templates are blank.  I'm not sure how helpful that is, ...

  • Great Project Server Integration with VSTS Post

The Software Lifecycle blog (a blog I watch for VSTS stuff) comes up with a solution to an interesting TFS integration problem they had.  I find this interesting, since I see Project Server integration becoming more prevalent as TFS is installed in more and more shops.
